Notification No.1/2001-Central Excise (N.T).

 

            In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944,namely: -

1.     (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (First Amendment) Rules, 2001.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.     In the Central Excise Rules, 1944, -

a.     in rule 49, in sub-rule (1), in clause (e), in sub-clause (ii), for the words "order passed by the proper officer in this regard", the words "order passed by the proper officer in this regard or till such date on which all the dues are paid, whichever is later";

b.     in rule 173G, in sub-rule (1), in clause (e), for the words "order passed by the proper officer in this regard", the words "order passed by the proper officer in this regard or till such date on which all the dues are paid, whichever is later".
