Subject: Nomination of additional Banks for collection of Central Excise duty and

              Service Tax – Check list for filling up of details in TR6 Challans Reg.

 

As you are aware the system of Multi banking has been in force since October 2003 in this Commissionerate and the same was made more broad based by introduction of common Multi banking system for all four Commissionerate in Chennai with effect from 15.4.2004.

 

In order to facilitate proper accounting, a checklist to ensure that TR-6 challans are duly filled up has been issued for the guidance of receiving branches of Nominated Banks by Pay and Accounts Office, Central Excise, Chennai. Nominated Banks were also advised not accept the TR-6 challans which are incomplete.

 

Strict compliance to the Checklist enclosed is solicited for proper booking of challans in the monthly accounts under the relevant head of account.

 

The contents of this trade notice may please be brought to the notice of all constituent members of your association in general and manufacturer/Dealers in particular.
