Excise - Rounding off the transaction of C.B.E.C. to the nearest
rupees - Reg. |
The
Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Central Board of Excise and Customs,
NewDelhi have observed that many transactions are still being carried out in
paise.
As
per Rule 17 Appendix - II of CGA's R&P Rules, transaction of Government
involving fraction of 50 paise and above be rounded off to next higher
rupee and less than 50 paise to be ignored. (with effect from 1-4-87).
It
is therefore once again reiterated that PAOs should not accept any claim in
paise in order to facilitate differences in accounts in various stages.
Necessary instructions to round off the transaction to nearest rupees as per
Rule 17 Appendix - II of Receipts and Payments Rules are hereby issued to all DDOs
of this Commissionerate who should adhere to the above instructions.
